The sturdy, rusty crane (there were two in operation) of the Leros air station (G. Rossetti base, headquarters of the Leros aeronautical administration during the period of Italian rule 1912 - 1943), was used to load the seaplanes of the Italian Royal Navy into the tolls. In the old photographs, we see it in action!!! (from the war finds museum of the Ioannis Paraponiaris family, in Agia Irini, Leros).
