Italian Artillery Building 899

East of Blefoutis, about 1,200 meters, the dirt road leads to the area of Cape Asfoungaros. Here was the location of the Italian battery 899 and its command building survives with the inscription “Siamo orgogliosi di occupare un posto di combattimento, di sacrifici e di dovere”, meaning “we are proud to occupy a place of battle, sacrifice and duty”.
