Monument in honor of the fallen heroic officers and sailors of the destroyer 'Queen Olga', pride of the Greek fleet, which was sunk by German JU-88 aircraft, in the port of Lakki, at the beginning of the Battle of Leros (26/09/1943). On the same day, the British destroyer 'HMS Intrepid' was also sunk. At the current site of the monument there was an excellent building that had been erected during the Turkish occupation by the Greek-Egyptian patriot Apostolidis and was subsequently requisitioned by the Italians who used it as an Italian Officers' Club. It was completely destroyed by German bombing in 1943.
