Holy Monastery of the Holy Angels

From the beach of Agios Spyridon we follow the road west, we pass by Agios Efstratios and we start an off-road route around the hill of Patela. At the top of the hill are the ruins of the legendary Patela battery with the unique aerophone (we will meet it on a separate route). The route passes through remote places, a difficult-to-reach beach, the chapels of Ypapanti, Prophet Elias and Saint Raphael, while with a small detour to the NW, between the two chapels, we will visit the Holy Monastery of the Holy Angels and the old chapel of Saints Peter and Paul (it also functioned as a holy monastery). The Holy Monastery of the Holy Angels was founded by the Missionary Blessed Elder Gabrielia Papagianni in the year 2001. The church is a single-aisled basilica and celebrates on January 11. It belongs to the Holy Metropolis of Leros, Kalymnos & Astypalaia.
