Plane

The seat of the Municipality of Leros is Platanos. A village between Agia Marina and Panteli (within walking distance) organized around its central square (which honors Paris Roussos, a fervent supporter of the Dodecanese struggle for union with Greece and Mayor of the island since 1950) with the large plane tree, the Town Hall and almost all the shops of the settlement. The metropolitan church of the settlement is the church of Evangelismos, a three-aisled cruciform inscribed with a dome that was completed in the period 1860 - 1862.
