Saint Mamas

Saint (Agios) Mamas in the mountains is located at one of the highest points on the island, on Mount Troulos, in the middle of a large plain. This beautiful little white church without a dome, with a walled courtyard, is accessible by a passable dirt road, either coming southwest from the church of the Prophet Elias, or ascending to the southeast from the church of Saint John the Baptist at Sklavogianni. Its holiday is celebrated on September 2 with a big festival (panigyri).
