Velanidia is a community in the Municipal Unit of Voies that consists of the village of Velanidia. It is a beautiful village with the character of an island, perhaps not accidentally, since it was established here by Spetses refugees during the Orlov Revolt against Turkish domination in 1770. With a wealth of monuments to visit, this is the last settlement before we descend to the lighthouse of Cape Maleas.
