Alestaina

Community of the Municipal District of Aroania made up of Alestaina, a picturesque village with traditional houses, although now with few permanent residents. It was first inhabited by residents from Sopotino in the 17th century, the period when the Monastery of Faneromeni was founded. At the beginning of the 20th century, many residents emigrated to the United States and Australia.
