Paleastra of the Lake

In the flat area northeast of the Sacred Lake, an area where there is plenty of water in the wells (as needed for gymnasiums), the educational and athletic center of the city was gradually built: the hippodrome, the old gymnasium, the granite palaestra, the private palaestra of Staseas, and a little farther, the new gymnasium and the stadium.
