One of the most impressive monasteries to be built into the side of a cliff, the Monastery of Saint John the Baptist (Monastiri tou Prodromou or Agianni tou Prodromou), was founded in the 8th century, across from Perdikovrysi. It has a very beautiful view of Perdikovrysi, the small church of Saint (Agia) Anna, and the Kotronas Rock.
