Built in the foothills of the Kroussia Mountains, Stavrodromi is located very close to Lake Kerkini. The 150 residents work in agriculture and animal husbandry. In 1995, a farmer found an ancient marble pomegranate, leading to speculation that there may have been an ancient settlement in the area.
