On the site of the family home in the traditional settlement of Dimitsana, the "Amanites" guesthouse/hotel was built with great care, faith, and love for tradition, as well as respect for the values of our local culture.

Amanites Traditional Guesthouse

The guest house-hotel “Amanites” is found on the site of the old family home in the traditional settlement of Dimitsana. Mindful of our guests' comfort, it has been built with respect for tradition and local culture.

The seven double rooms available combine tradition with comfort in a tasteful mix. Beyond your bedroom door, discrete comfort awaits you. There is also the option of adjoining rooms to accommodate large parties or families.

The reception area is on the first floor. Here you will enjoy a wholesome breakfast in the morning, a coffee or drink by the fireplace, read a book, or play board games. In addition, there are movies available and free internet access at all times.

Parking is available on the ground floor. For those preferring hiking, we will be happy to point you in the right direction. This is a unique opportunity to discover Dimitsana, a place lost in time and steeped in history and tradition.

AMANITES

Unexpected jewels of the forest, home to many pixies…

The Name

It must be at least fifty years ago, but it seems like only yesterday when a large oak tree grew in the backyard of our house. Close to its roots, we would find mushrooms. Being children, we would want to pick them, but Grandpa Aristidis would claim that these were home to magical creatures invisible to the human eye, and that we should leave them alone. We would do so with much disappointment, all the while wondering about the fantastic inhabitants of these mushrooms. Often, we would spend hours hiding in the backyard, hoping to catch a glimpse of these fairy creatures that lived there. The years have passed, times have changed, and the great oak tree is gone. Gone also are those enchanted mushrooms.

Today, two beautiful Amanites (mushrooms) open their doors and welcome those whose fantasy still helps them keep the old stories alive.
