Location

Leaving Vachlia on the road to Dimitra (and turning left after the small church of Aitharapi), we can find remnants of an ancient town on a small hill. This is believed to be Ancient Thaliades, which Pausanias mentioned in his book Arcadika. To the right of Aitharapi we can see the beginning of the dirt road that leads to the historic Monastery of Saint Paraskevi.

How to Get There

We take the path behind the little church of Aitharapi and walk across the densely wooded hillside ahead of us. First we will pass an old threshing floor, and then we will head southwest through dense vegetation until we reach a clearing at the top of the small hill. There we will see impressive large white stones scattered around; they are the remnants of the ancient town.

It is just 300-400 meters from the road--a 5 to 10 minute walk.
