The islet of Giali is the newest volcanic center of the Nisyros region. It consists of two hills connected by a narrow isthmus. On the NW and SE sides of this isthmus, two beautiful beaches are formed. The islet can be visited for swimming, with day trips from Mandraki (approximately 20-25 minutes away) and only the part that you will be informed about when you arrive is open to the public. The North beach looks like an exotic beach with sand and light blue waters due to the pumice stone. We will reach it by a path with a short walk of 5'-10' from the pier where the tourist boat docks. This is where the vast majority of visitors end up. However, the SE beach, the one we see on our right as soon as we arrive, is very beautiful and almost deserted, with a fantastic light yellow color and an endless stretch of sand and fine gravel. There is also a beautiful beach on the islet of Agios Antonios, opposite NE, but you must have your own water vehicle to go there.
