Plates

The beautiful Plakes (flat rocks) are located at the NW entrance of the settlement's bay and offer a beautiful swim in their crystal clear waters. Plakes can be accessed from the sea by water taxi but also by a relatively accessible path (1,200 meters, 45 minutes) that starts at the western end of the harbor, behind the Megisti Hotel. The path runs along the eastern side of the bay and at an altitude of 40 - 80 meters. At the point where the path ends, it meets the dirt road that ends 500 meters later at the chapel of Agios Stefanos and from there a 200-meter path leads us to the homonymous cape with the lighthouse, at the edge of the main bay of the island.
