Opposite the metropolitan church of Saints Constantine and Helen, the neoclassical building of the Santrapia Urban School of Kastellorizo stands out, built in 1902-1903 by the island's benefactors Loukas and Anastasia Santrapes. Its purpose was to provide a high level of education based on the principles of mutual teaching. The architecture of its facade is a simulation of the propylaea of the University of Athens. Today it houses the Elementary, Middle and High Schools of Kastellorizo. The courtyard in front of the entrance stands out, which reaches as far as the metropolis opposite and is paved with the traditional mosaic, the kohlaki.
