Empire Patrol Shipwreck Memorial

monument in honor of the 33 (thirty-three) Kastellorizo refugees who drowned on September 29, 1945, when the ship, Empire Patrol, that was transporting them from Port Said, Egypt, caught fire for unknown reasons and sank. The people on board were World War II refugees who were returning to their island at the end of the world war.
