Agio Nikolakis

Agio Nikolakis, or Ai- or E-Nikolaki, is an islet across from the long beach of Lakka. It was named after the little church of Saint Nicholas (Agios Nikolaos) that is located there. To visit it, you will need your own transportation. The islet is also a place of martyrdom, since many of the Psarians who guarded it were killed there in the days of the island's destruction in June 1824 (as was the case on the islet of Daskalio, across from Archontiki). Even today, we can discern traces of the blood of fallen fighters on the floor of the church.
