Beach of Kipi

A 1,300 meter trail that starts at Vlachides takes us to the 'wild' beach of Kipi in 30 minutes. The beach does not resemble Aegina’s other beaches. 450 meters wide, it features many rusty red stones reminiscent of the volcanic beaches of the Methana peninsula, whose northern part is across from Kipi Beach. On that peninsula, in 1700, the last submarine explosion of the Methana volcano occurred. At the southern edge of the beach there is a rock formation with a big hole in it; at the other end there are a few houses, a small church, and a pier. Next to the pier, a 2 to 3 meter wide sandy beach allows us to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the bay without discomfort from the stones. Sailboats and other boats also find shelter in the bay of Kipi.
