By the provincial road from Gythio to Areopoli, we find a monument dedicated to Giorgos Fteris - Tsibidaros of Mani, a writer, poet, critic, and journalist who did great intellectual work. Created by Georgios Dimakos in 1969, the monument is located at a point where both the Messinian and Lakonian Gulfs are visible.
