Bust of the great benefactor of the island, Markos Nomikos (1898-1984). Scion of the famous shipping family, his father Petros had founded the Thiraiki Maritime Company (Thiraiki Aktoplia) in 1930 and was elected a member of Parliament for the Cycladic Islands five consecutive times (from 1956 to 1964).
