Koutsoyannopoulos Winery and Museum

The Koutsoyannopoulos Winery and Museum is the only wine museum in an underground cave in Greece. Located in Vothonas, Santorini, it is 8 meters below ground and 300 meters long, in a labyrinth shape. It took 21 years of hard work, patience, and perseverance to create it, with work funded only by the Koutsoyannopoulos family. In the museum, visitors can browse through the history of wine with automatic personal electronic tours in fourteen languages. All the phases of winemaking are presented in chronological order: pruning, tilling the land, harvesting, pressing and weighing the grapes. The rare exhibits, machinery and winemaking tools will transport visitors to another era.
