"Located on Sotiros Hill, the Monastery of the Savior (Iera Moni Sotiros) has an incredible view of the city of Sidirokastro. The hill is also called ""Top Bair,"" a name from the Ottoman period which means ""hill of the cannon."" The Monastery was built in the second half of the 1940s and holds its annual celebration on August 6."
