Submerged Town of Pavlopetri

In a shallow sea area (3 to 4 meters deep) between the island and Pavlopetri Beach, a well preserved, submerged ancient city more than 5,000 years old was discovered in 1967-68. A 2009 study showed that the city spans 9,000 square meters.
