After the Koutri wood, in the central square of Agios Ioannis with the tall plane tree, we find the post-Byzantine (15th century) church of Saint George (Agios Georgios or E-Giorgis). It has many murals inside which were probably the work of the local painter and priest Georgios Koulidas.
