Kleitoria

Community of the Municipal District of Kleitoria made up of the villages of Valtos, Elatofyto, Zarelia, Kallithea and Kleitoria. Kleitoria is the seat of the Municipal District, it has developed particularly in recent years, benefitting from the development of the ski resort at Chelmos. Before 1821, this area was for the garden sheds and plots of land of the mountain village Mazi (today Elatofyto). Elatofyto (or Mazi) is a village with a long history. It is mentioned in Venetian documents of 1700 and it enjoyed great prosperity during the 18th century. The excursion in the woods from Zarelia towards Valtos is very lovely (about 5km).
